Mount Airy

Mount Airy in Surry County, NC is quite rural, but it is the closest “town” to a large swath of neighborhoods and counties. Although it may never be a “boom” town, there is a lot of healthy community pride as the real Mayberry (from The Andy Griffith Show).

Mount Airy boasts “one of the top ten school districts in the state of North Carolina.” Residents are only a 15-minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the city itself has more than 30 miles of sidewalks and five city parks. The Ararat River is accessible for fishing and is a stocked, delayed harvest waterway.

Mount Airy has so much to attract residents, but it lacks a Reformed gospel presence. The Piedmont Triad Presbytery is committed to seeing the gospel thrive in Mount Airy and throughout the region.
